Frequently Asked Questions
How much do classes cost?
Our 8 week sessions are $285. Tuition is billed as one single payment for the entire session and is due before the first class. Please note that tuition is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
How long and how frequent are classes?
Classes are 45 minutes long and happen once per week.
Where are the classes located?
Classes are held at my studio in Tustin, located just outside of the Tustin/Irvine Marketplace. Exact address will be provided after registration.
How many students are in each class?
The maximum amount of students per class is limited to 6 to ensure that each student feels supported and receives attention.
What is your illness and social distancing policy?
If the student or a family member is ill or not feeling well for any reason, the student should not attend their class in person. If the student comes to the studio with any of the following symptoms (excessive coughing, sniffling, sneezing, fatigue), student will be sent home immediately and the lesson will be forfeited.
Following state guidelines, masks are currently optional in the studio. Shared items are regularly sanitized and an air purifier will be running continually in the classroom. Students and parents are expected to wash their hands at the facility's restrooms before the start of class.
Do you offer make up lessons?
Due to the nature of the program, make-up lessons cannot be provided in the case of absences. The studio is happy to record the class for you to review, just let us know in advance!
What do I need to bring to class?
The studio recommends comfortable clothing as there will be both movement based and seated activities, and we provide clean toys and materials for Parent and Me classes. Just bring yourself, your child(ren), and be ready to have fun!
There are no food or beverages allowed in the studio except for closed containers of water.
What can I expect to happen in class?
Parent and Me classes consist of developmental movement activities and singing, instruction on basic musical fundamentals (ex. musical terms, note names, rhythms), and introductions to a new instrument/composer every class. The instructor will teach students in a positive and enthusiastic environment.
Parents are expected to stay with their child for the entire duration of the class and are highly encouraged to reinforce the concepts introduced in class at home. Parents will be provided access to a Google Classroom with additional resources at the end of each class.
These classes are a fantastic prerequisite to private music lessons, and your instructor will be more than happy to provide more information on the best fit for your child at the end of the current session.
Do you accept charter funds?
Yes! I am an approved vendor with Cabrillo Point Academy under the name "Kim Nguyen Music". After registering below, you can request a purchase order for my "Parent and Me" Group Class and your enrollment will be finalized once I receive your enrichment certificate.
If you are interested in using charter funds from a school other than Cabrillo Point Academy, please let me know. The studio is happy to become an approved vendor for your charter school so we can accept your funds!
I'm interested in enrolling after the start date, can I still join?
Absolutely! As of April 7th, there are still a couple spots left in the class. Just fill out the registration form below.
